Different types of fruits are traded worldwide where the recent trends show a change in global supply chains created by US-China trade war in 2018-2019, tripling trade in avocadoes and blueberries, increasing popularity of fresh fruits in the health-conscious growing global populations, and a decline in the demand of juices, cans, bottles and pouches in Europe, American and Australia (by 1 per cent).  The new buyers seek organic where the promotion of superfoods increased year-round demand. Significant improvement in the sector has been made due to improvement in transportation facilities, transparent agreement and shifting consumer preference for healthy diets. Dislocations, reconstructing supply chains, improved market access, change in consumer choices, professional retail and improving purchase power of growing economies boost demands in the sector. Transportation through sea offers opportunities for producers like Brazil, Ecuador, Peru and Chile. 

Orange juice is a part of the soft market where future contracts can be used to trade at the   ICE Futures U.S. The commodity Frozen Concentrated Orange Juice has a short shelf life where one unit equals 15,000 pounds. Orange from Florida and Brazil are delivered at warehouses in January, March, May, July, September and December.
