Windmills make use of the kinetic energy of air to generate power. Smaller deployments can be used for battery charging as auxiliary power for boats or caravans, or power traffic warning signs and large deployments can supply to households or businesses, while, unused power can be traded to the utility supplier through the power grid. Global demand for such operations and maintenance continues to grow, as the solar and onshore wind has proved to offer one of the cheapest sources, in terms of, bulk generation in many countries.  

Offshore is one of the most underused resources and the Global Wind Energy Council expects in five years it will account for 25 percent of the total wind power. The three countries that will lead to producing such energies will be the UK, China and Germany. In the UK full capacity, offshore wind projects could power up to 4.5 million homes where it has the infrastructure that could provide a capacity of 7.5GW.

The UK hosts one of the largest number-34 percent of the total offshore installations, and by 2030, it is expected to provide more than 30 per cent of the demand. The projects will also provide 27,000 new jobs.
